Name Change, life updates & future plans for this site

The London Eye on New Year's Day, surrounded by fireworks with the message 'Happy New Year' projected onto it.

Hello again, everyone! I know it’s been a while (nearly three months!) since I last posted on this website, & since it’s the new year I thought I’d kinda just write off-the-cuff about stuff going on with me & talk about potential plans for the site.

For starters, you might have noticed the change of name both on here & on my various social medias. I’m going by “Dagmar” now, & I’ve adjusted my pronouns to match. If I’m being honest, the change was less due to a dislike of my old name & more that people always saw it as male-coded despite “Logan” being a unisex name, so everyone always assumed I was a man, or at the very least one of those masc enbies whose presentation is largely in line with their AGAB. It’s not exactly like I wasn’t open about the whole “being transfemme” thing, it’s just that people didn’t seem to notice! The problem isn’t entirely solved, because apparently people are such troglodytes they hear a Scandinavian name & just assume it has to be masculine (I fucking shit you not, I had someone say it was “the kind of name I’d expect a dwarf to have” when explaining why they assumed I was a guy), but it still happens way less than before, & I quite like the name Dagmar!

I’ve struggled with procrastination & task-juggling for most of my life, & I’ve been low in energy for some time now; mainly devoting my creative energies to trying (& failing) to create music. Oh well, at least I’m a wizard at the flute now! I’ve been chipping away at a couple of articles here & there; a follow-up to the post I made predicting that Kemi Badenoch would win the Conservative leadership election (a prediction, of course, that turned out to be correct. Made a nice 40-odd quid off of that!), & a post-mortem of the US election trying to figure out how exactly the Dems cocked up. I think I'll probably shelve the Badenoch one, because I think I missed the opportunity to make a short gloating post in my attempt to write a longer article, an attempt that proved futile as I found myself not really having much to say beyond proclaiming the article’s vindication. I might still go ahead with the US election article though, I dunno; I’ll have to try & decide whether or not it’s too late to write about it.

There’s also some potential article ideas I’ve had for non-current events topics that I’ve wanted to get round to writing, but put off in favour of the two mentioned above due to time-sensitivity concerns. I can take as long as I want with those, so maybe I might try & work on those a bit more; I can chip away at them little-by-little, meaning there’ll be less of a chance I panic & shut them away, never to be seen again. I won’t be mentioning the topics here, though; you lot can wait until I publish them!

Now, it’s the new year, & while I’ve never been one to set resolutions, it might be a good time for me to state some goals I hope to achieve ASAP:

Now, with all that said & done, I hope you all have a great new year... & hopefully you’ll see me use this website a little more frequently! Fingers crossed, eh?
